For my final university project, I wrote and illustrated a picture book called ‘Finding the Way’ that follows the story of Mrs Morris and her guide dog Maple as they navigate through an unfamiliar environment as they try and find a new way to the park when they find that their usual route is blocked by construction. Themes of trust and teamwork underpin the story, as Mrs Morris and Maple must work together to overcome a variety of different obstacles along the way. 

    This was an extremely rewarding project, with a blind family member, and as a visually impaired person myself, creating this story allowed me to explore the overlap between fun and educational storytelling. 

    Though this project has not yet been fully finished,  I hope to complete in the very near future, and am exited at the places it may lead me to!
